Flagship real estate website demonstration
Aldergate: a complete platform, built to be explored.
Aldergate is a fictional Inner West agency we invented to show what a full agency platform looks like when it is designed around a client's own brand rather than a template. Every page a buyer, vendor, landlord or tenant needs is built and working, on a design system that shares nothing with our own black and gold.

Flagship real estate website demonstration designed and developed by M&U Ventures. A fictional business, not a client project.

Project overview
A whole agency platform, not a homepage.
Most agency websites are a brochure with a listings widget bolted on. Aldergate was built to prove the opposite: that every part of an agency's public face, from search to appraisal request to the tenant's maintenance form, can live on one coherent, fast, bespoke platform.
It is a fictional agency, and the site says so on every page. Nothing about it is client work. It exists so a principal can click through a finished product before deciding whether to commission one.

Design approach
Designed around the client's brand, not ours.
We considered three brand directions before building: a coastal Northern Beaches agency, a Melbourne inner-north grotesk-led identity, and Aldergate. Aldergate won on credibility and originality: bone paper grounds, ink typography, an oxblood accent used sparingly, and Newsreader paired with Manrope.
It shares nothing with M&U Ventures' own black and gold, which is the point. The same team, the same code architecture, a completely different visual identity — the same approach we take for a dental practice, a law firm or an agency.
- Editorial layouts with generous margins and hairline rules
- Square corners, 44px touch targets, a stroke icon set drawn for the site
- Illustrated property imagery generated from each listing's structured description, so every view of a property is the same building in the same palette
- Motion limited to reveals, gallery crossfades and drawers, all disabled under reduced motion

Beyond the standard build
What a larger platform looks like, when one is warranted.
Aldergate goes well beyond the standard agency site: search and filtering, a CRM-ready listing layer and thirteen listing pages are a larger, separately scoped build. We show it so an agency can see the ceiling of what's possible, then we scope honestly against what a given agency actually needs.
Pages never read listing data directly. They call a query layer that reads from a listing source, with statuses for sale, under offer, sold, for lease, leased and withdrawn. Connecting a supported CRM or portal feed means writing one adapter into the same listing type.

AI walkthrough assistant
It knows the listing you're looking at, and nothing else.
The assistant opens from any property page as a dialog. It answers questions about inspections, price guide, auction, rooms, land, features, the suburb and rental terms from that listing's structured data, compares similar properties, and refuses to invent information or give financial or legal advice. When it can't answer, it offers to pass the conversation to the listing agent and captures contact details with consent.
The assistant is model-backed: each question is answered by Claude from a prompt assembled server-side out of that listing's published details, with a scripted fallback if the model is ever unavailable. Advice questions are declined and anything it cannot confirm is handed to the agent. The same assistant, grounded in a business's own approved facts, is available as an optional website assistant on any of our builds.

Spec sheet
Everything in the build.
Design, brand and content are decided for each business; the machinery below is what a build delivers.
- Buy, rent and sold search with URL-based filters, sorting, active-filter chips, loading and empty states
- Thirteen listing pages with editorial galleries, floor plans, inspections, location, listing history and similar properties
- Agent directory and profiles with current listings, results and contact forms
- Selling, property management, tenant and maintenance sections with appraisal and enquiry forms
- Six suburb guides, an insights section with four articles, about, contact, legal and accessibility pages
- Listing-specific AI walkthrough assistant with lead capture and agent escalation
- Structured listing data layer with feed adapters, status handling and a derived activity feed
- Resend-backed enquiry delivery with validation, honeypot, time-on-form and rate limiting
